Old Navy Returns To Stark County, Belden Village - Grand Opening Aug. 1st

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Old Navy has returned to the Belden Village retail area approximately 18 months after closing its longtime store at The Strip.

The retailer opened its new location at Belden Park Crossings on Tuesday, July 28. A formal grand opening and ribbon cutting are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, August 1.

The store is located at 5557 Dressler Road NW. Belden Park Crossings is also commonly listed under the shopping center’s general address of 5496 Dressler Road NW. Grand opening weekend promotions will include $15 off a purchase of $75 or more. The shopping center has also advertised activities and other experiences inside the store during the opening celebration.

The store is expected to employ about 60 people, according to information provided by Stark Enterprises, the owner of Belden Park Crossings. Old Navy is continuing to hire for the location. A current Gap Inc. posting for part time retail sales associates lists pay between $13.50 and $14 an hour, depending on qualifications, experience, skills, competencies and work location. Sales associates may work on the sales floor, in fitting rooms, at registers and in the stockroom. The posting says applicants should be available for flexible schedules that may include evenings, weekends, holidays and overnight shifts.

Old Navy has a long history in Jackson Township. The retailer was among the original tenants at The Strip when the shopping center opened in November 1996.

The former Old Navy store, located at 6687 Strip Avenue NW, remained open for more than 28 years before closing after business on January 23, 2025. Its closure left the immediate Canton and Jackson Township area without an Old Navy location until the opening at Belden Park Crossings.

The new location places Old Navy in one of the busiest retail corridors in Eastern Ohio. Belden Park Crossings is a roughly 490,000 square foot shopping center with direct access from Interstate 77 and retailers including Target, Kohl’s, Barnes & Noble, Ulta Beauty, Five Below, PetSmart and Fresh Thyme Market.

A recent commercial property listing reported that Belden Park Crossings receives approximately 7.1 million visits annually. The listing ranked it as the most visited shopping center within a 20 mile radius and among the most heavily visited retail centers in Ohio.

Across the road, Belden Village Mall draws more than 6.5 million visits annually and contains more than 120 stores, restaurants and other businesses. The mall is anchored by Macy’s, Dillard’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy and Dave & Buster’s.

The two properties are part of a larger concentration of stores, restaurants, hotels and entertainment businesses surrounding Dressler Road, Everhard Road, Whipple Avenue and Interstate 77. The area’s highway access allows it to attract customers from Canton, Massillon, Alliance, Akron and other communities throughout Eastern Ohio.
